Road Patrol Division

     The Road Patrol Division of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department covers approximately 667 square miles, 24 hours a day, Seven days a week.  The Department maintains a central office in Fayetteville, and operates two detachments, one in Smithers (Valley Detachment), and the other in Danese (New Haven District). 
 
      The New Haven District consists of all areas North of the New River, East of Chimney Corner, to the Greenbrier, Nicholas and Raliegh County lines.  The Valley District consists of all areas West of Chimney Corner, and North of Page.  The Fayetteville Main Office covers all other areas.  The officers work in conjuction with all seven Municipal Police Departments in the county, The WV State Police, the WV Department of Natural Resources, the National Park Service, and the WVUIT Campus Security Police Department. 
 
       The Road Patrol Division is responsible for responding to 911 emergency calls, all civil process service, as well as warrant execution.  This division provides security for local events, and special functions.  The Road Patrol division has at its disposal, multiple 4 wheel drive vehicles, GPS capabilities, access to National Guard aircraft, and two special purpose ATV's.  This division actively participates in sobriety checkpoints, directed patrols, saturation details, and the nation-wide "Click it or Ticket" program.
