Sheriff Steve W. Kessler

     The Fayette County Sheriff's Department is a full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to the needs of the citizens of our county.  The Mission Statement for our department is:  "To protect and serve the citizens of Fayette County through the fair and just delivery of community policing services in a manner that is consistent with the highest standards of performance within the law enforcement profession."  Consistent with our mission, the Fayette County Sheriff's Department is dedicated to the standards of professional excellence through our responsiveness to the needs of the cititzens residing within our jurisdiction.

     This website has been developed for purposes of providing the public with certain useful information that may be of benefit to our community.  As a means for providing our department with information that may prove beneficial in the enforcement of our criminal laws, I would suggest that the public make use of our "Provide a Tip" portion of this website.   The "Local Most Wanted" feature is intended to assist us in the location and arrest of persons wanted for ourstanding criminal offenses.  The other portions of this site are intended to serve as a means for improved communications between this department and the public that we serve. 

     Community-based policing is and will remain the foundation for the management and operation of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.  By working together, I am confident that we can always improve the quality of life that we have come to enjoy in Fayette County, West Virginia.  Your interest and involvement in the affairs of your community can indeed make a difference.
